Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the FinAmigo mobile application ("App"), operated by AmigolLabs. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. What FinAmigo Is

FinAmigo is a personal finance dashboard that helps you import, organize, and visualize your bank transactions from PDFs, CSV exports, Gmail bank statements, and SMS bank alerts — all processed locally on your device.

FinAmigo is a data visualization and tracking tool only. It does not provide professional financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Any financial decisions you make based on information shown in the App are made entirely at your own risk. FinAmigo is not a bank, lender, payment service, or licensed financial adviser.

2. FinAmigo Score

The FinAmigo Score™ is a proprietary metric calculated locally on your device based on your imported transaction data. It is designed to give you a general sense of your financial patterns and health.

• It is not a CIBIL score, credit bureau score, or any formally recognized credit rating.
• It is not used by any lender, bank, or financial institution.
• It reflects only the data you have imported into the App and may not represent your complete financial picture.

3. Eligibility and Account

• You must be at least 13 years old to use FinAmigo.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and the biometric or PIN lock used to protect the App.
• You must not allow unauthorized persons to access the App on your device.

4. Data Responsibility

FinAmigo is an offline-first application. All your financial data is stored locally on your device in an encrypted database. You are solely responsible for maintaining backups of your device.

• If your device is lost, stolen, damaged, or replaced, and you have not exported your data, it cannot be recovered — we do not store your financial data on our servers.
• Use Settings → Export Data to CSV regularly to keep a backup of your transactions.
• Use Settings → Sign Out to permanently erase all App data if you no longer want it on a device.

5. Accuracy of Parsed Data

FinAmigo's parsers (for PDFs, CSV files, Gmail emails, and SMS messages) are designed to extract bank transaction data as accurately as possible. However, we cannot guarantee 100% accuracy for all bank statement formats, edge cases, or future changes made by banks to their statement layouts.

You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of all financial data shown in the App against your official bank statements before making any financial decisions.

6. Permissions You Grant

To use certain features, you may grant the App the following permissions. Each is optional and can be revoked at any time from your device settings:

• Gmail (read-only): To scan for bank statement emails and download PDF/CSV attachments for local import.
• SMS (Android only, Pro/Max): To read incoming bank transaction alert messages for automatic import.
• Biometric / device lock: Required to secure and unlock the App.
• Storage / file access: To allow you to manually upload PDF and CSV bank statement files.
• Notifications: For optional background sync completion alerts.

Revoking a permission will disable the related feature. The App will continue to function for manual imports even if Gmail and SMS permissions are revoked.

7. Premium Subscriptions

FinAmigo offers paid subscription tiers (Pro and Max) that unlock additional features such as AI-powered transaction tagging, SMS auto-sync, and enhanced insights.

• Subscriptions are purchased through Google Play or the Apple App Store and billed according to those platforms' billing terms.
• Subscription management, cancellation, and refunds are handled through the respective app store. We do not process payments directly.
• Subscription status is verified via RevenueCat. An anonymous app user ID is shared with RevenueCat for entitlement verification.
• Features available in each tier are described within the App and are subject to change with reasonable notice.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the App.
• Use the App to import or process data that does not belong to you or that you are not authorized to access.
• Attempt to circumvent the biometric lock, subscription verification, or any other security feature.
• Interfere with the proper operation of the App or attempt to access services it relies on without authorization.

9. Intellectual Property

FinAmigo, the FinAmigo Score™, all design elements, logos, and original content within the App are the property of AmigolLabs. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, or create derivative works from any part of the App without written permission from AmigolLabs.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that any data extracted or calculated will be accurate or complete.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AmigolLabs and the FinAmigo team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to loss of data, financial losses, incorrect transaction categorizations, or decisions made based on the App's outputs — arising from your use of or inability to use the App.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App or its subscription in the twelve months preceding the claim.

12. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. Use Settings → Sign Out before uninstalling to ensure all your data is securely erased from the device.

We reserve the right to discontinue the App or any feature with reasonable notice. In the event of discontinuation, you will be able to export your data before the App ceases to function.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after changes are published constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you through the App.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of FinAmigo shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.
